A story of me in this lifetime

 When I look up to someone as a mentor, I  naturally am his (or her) disciple like I am. However, unlike the master-disciple relationship under the apprenticeship system, this relationship does not mean that the mentor has given me permission to become his (or her) apprentice, nor has he (or her) given me a full license or a certificate as a disciple. Therefore, it is like a one-sided wish of me, and if we make a mistake, we may become a nuisance or a stalker. If I wish to become a real disciple, It is essential that I do not make these errors. So I must properly study mentor thinking and faithfully practice that. As it is so, I can surely say: "I am one of that disciple too.". The way of the disciple is still so far for me. But Nichiren has taught me "Rely on the Law and not upon persons." (on page 109 in "Conversation between a Sage and an Unenlightened Man").  Continue next time.   I have used a word of mentor two times in this blog so far. What interests you is that who is a mentor, but today, I will tell you about that first met my mentor.  When I was younger in my teen years, I met the mentor during a summer course held by the student division of Soka-Gakkai in 1970.  I could get a chance at that time that closely faced to mentor, but I could touch only his hand because he was in a whirl of many members of students. I could hear only his saying: "please eat a dish of shaved ice by this. because it is too hot.”.   After the whirl had far moved, I found something on the palm of my hand, which was a small, yellow, and plastic square left.   Of course, It was a ticket for buying a dish of shaved ice. After that, I had eaten a dish of shaved ice, but the payment was dishonestly cash. Naturally, I have always kept the yellow square as my treasure till now. To be continued.   My mentor said about the cultivation: “To illustrate, not all plants and trees will necessarily grow simply because the sun is shining. Some may be in the shade, shut off from the light, or be attacked by harmful insects. Some may lack sufficient nutrients. Only when they are regularly given the appropriate care to address their specific circumstances and needs can plants grow. The same is true in the world of faith. If we compare the announcement of activity guidelines or the encouragement given to members at meetings to the light of the sun, then visiting members at their home or giving personal guidance can be likened to caring for the specific needs of each plant or tree.”.   A week ago, my wife and I went to a nearby home center to buy some daily necessities. I found a pot of Croton there and thought that pitifully, so the plant discounted and was surely unsold, which is only a plant but a company living on earth together. 

 Eddie Van Halen had gone yesterday.  I have known the news of his death just in the morning. I have deeply regretted his death and could not pardon me why had could not notice his death at once.   I have amazed at such myself. I will maybe state about details of the story which connect between an introduction and a conclusion next time. I have lived in this lifetime with other life other than human beings. We are living in this universe(s) certainly. why are we in the universe(s)? I have thought of such simple doubt in my childhood.  These questions were further continuing to what am I? Everyone was similar to me in childhood. A story until now has been an introductory one. The Subject mentioned above changed suddenly, and the following is my conclusion. I always try to rise up to Buddhahood of the highest state of life and raise up for the target.  Next time I will tell you that stories connected introduction to conclusion.
